This is the first game Jam I've participated! I'm using it to practice for Ludum Dare. So far I've got a nice simple physics engine working greatly, so I think I'm doing well until now :)

Plan on participating. I will have to do all my coding in an abbreviated time period, because my computer is being worked on right now, and plus school and other things... I have a good idea, though.
Earlier you said the rules are pretty flexible, so I have a question: how long will the dead-line be extended?

Glad we're having a community Jam, though! :)

If needed, I can extend it from Sunday to Tuesday.

For future jams, I've found a really nice format is the challenge is a week long, but when you start you have 48 hours to complete it.

That's a nice idea but relies heavily on the people participating in it.

Could do that you only get the theme when you send a message about wanting to start, then you have 48h to submit the game. Obviously its still the honor system.

Hey, Davidobot, why is the Love Jam due to end at Tuesday now? Not that I don't like it, it's more time for me to work on my game, but it is now almost a week. Was it to have more people participating or just to give competitors more time to work on their games?

It was by popular request. And to give people more time, as some people don't have a lot of it available.

I just submitted my entry, please check it out:

I won't manage to finish, had too little time for even a minimal version (just thursday and a few hours this evening). I love what's there already though. I'll finish some variant of this game anyway, if it includes the fusion thingy I will post it here then.
