The fantasy bullet battle to end monstergirl genocide! A vertical shooter in the early to mid 90s arcade style of Raiden Fighters, Strikers 1945, and Battle Garegga.
It's not my type of game (and to be honest, I don't quite understand the theme - why am I shooting these people and then collecting their corpses? Maybe it's the placeholder art that throws me off), but it's very well executed. The gameplay feels "good".
I find it a little difficult to distinguish between enemies and pickups, though (because they look so similar) - maybe a color variation might help?

Thanks for trying. Indeed, the art is a mix of open assets and the art talent for good new sprites isn't here yet. The idea is you're knocking out and abducting people - women to make more demons like yourself, men to continually harvest their spiritual energy which gives you power. The ones you can pick up are flashing, but could be complemented with some other visual effect.
I made a small update and started numbering versions. This is version 0.1.1. I made it hopefully not as crushingly hard and replaced the big numbers over your team with proper gauges.
It's quite cool. I died a ton, but then realised I should probably skip a few enemies when it gets too crowded. It had a true retro arcade feel, which is probably what you were going for.
