Strange thing going on

Post by Sparx »

Everytime I work on my Laptop in the Train starting löve sometimes pixel errors appear(outside the löve window) in several lines.
This is just while runing löve in the train....
This is no joke but i can't explain...

First thing would be to narrow things down, Tell us your OS and other computer hardware, Or even the brand/model of the laptop.

A print screen shot would help to show us what this looks like.

One thing that springs to mind is that you are using the laptop without being connected to power, This would bring me to assume that the laptop would now be working in a low powered state ( most laptops have nowadays have different power states for being plugged in/out to save battery on the go ) and due to this the graphics card may not be getting the "juice" it normally receives when plugged in. Most operating systems allow you to change these power state configurations by clicking the battery or power icon in the system tray and the bottom right, what you should be looking for is a high performance mode, but in changing this power state you will most likely start to see a difference in battery life.

Other than what ive just suggested it could either be a driver issue, or another compatibility issue with whatever OS or applications you are using.

I hope my suggestions help :)

My OS is Win XP Pro SP3.
Laptop is brandnew FSC Epsrimo V6505 with Intel T3400, 2GB, Intel GMA X4500HD
While working on battery i didn't see it till yet ecxept for siting in the train. But i didn't use LÖVE often without power connection.

I don't think it's the "juice" missing... Playing 3D-Games is as normal as with power connection.

You're not having an exceptionally bumpy ride that your laptop can't handle? Try any other game while sitting in the train.

Could you post a screenshot, and mention what processes you have running.

It may be that another application is also utilizing your screenspace (docks, desktop widgets, etc)

Are these other games 3d or 2d and do they run in fullscreen?
