I just read a post from rude on the issue tracker saying Box2D isn't actually that big.

EDIT: whoa, wait, that was size, but I don't know about memory usage (which I still expect to be somewhat the same, unless Box2D stores things REALLY bad, which is contradicted by the fact it is used by commercial studios)

Update: the "No Game" screen uses 21MB yes, but that "game" has stuff loaded, like images and physics. If I run an empty game, LÖVE only uses about 9MB.

Well, yes, but what did you expect? Everybody on his pandora playing empty games? (and, WHY does it have physics?!)

You didn't know? The "No game" screen is actually a very advanced, complex game. Very hard. I'm stuck at level 26 of the one hundred. ;)
