get and setGroupIndex in Shape only?

I have been looking at the source code lately, with the idea of using it to improve the docs in the wiki. I found something a little odd, which I think deserves a question of its own. I am using the source package that is for download for Linux on the front page, and not the latest version from the Mercurial repos, by the way.
0.6.1 introduces the Shape:getGroupIndex and Shape:setGroupIndex methods. They are registered for Shape objects in the file wrap_Shape.cpp. All the other methods for Shape objects are also registered as methods of PolygonShapes and CircleShapes too, in their respective wrapper files. These two do not appear there.
Why is this?
