Löve2Bounce

Post by Pliskin09 »

base on this game:http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/g3/bells.htm

i figured it'd be good to start off by making a clone of that game with love. turning out easier than i thought!

can someone review my code to see if i am doing alright? :nyu:

got basics down!

PS just noticed that love files with the letter "ö" in them wont open! :ultrashocked::

link removed, check this post

So far, cute. It's a fun little game, and it's in the "tower" series of games, I think.

I like the graphics ^^

The internal structure seems ok, but the controls are a bit funky. Hold Up and wait to see the player jump extremely high.

Neolitik: I think that was a bug that our friend Pliskin09 fixed -- but I have a completely different problem with the new version: the smiley guy jumps very high (which isn't that bad if it wasn't for the next bit) and the "bells" launch the smiley guy like a rocket -- one ball, and it flies out of sight.

The clouds are nice, by the way. (Together with the smiley guy, I'm beginning to see conspicuous parallels with Jump Game... ;))

like a rocket you say? the 'bells' are only supposed to take you up 200 or so pixels each. (you could get a rocket effect when the "bell"s line up under a thick layer of cloud. you appear to lounch high into the sky when infact your just hitting one bell after the other. if thats not the case, then it is indeed weird. :S )

Well, yes. It flies completely off screen. I suspect it might have something to do with dt (hint: my computer is not exactly state of the art).

Oh good. It's not just me. LÖVE crashes on any file with a special character like the ö or a ü or ø or é or anything that's not a regular character in the title of the project. This is a bug and I hope the programmers can fix it.
