How to save?

Post by miz656 »

I'm new to love. I know Lua easily but I don't know how to save. What do you do?

Like

Blah main.lua, .love

That wasn't it because output said there was error and not file, help?

What do you mean? Lua files are just regular text files.

No, seriously. First of all, you can try to make a .love-file. That's done by zipping all the contents of the folder as a zip and renaming it to .love. You should be able to get that one to work. If not, something's terribly wrong.

Dragging a folder onto an excecutable sounds wierd. I guess it's supposed to work but I'm not sure how. Try using the command line (cmd).

Also, you can place the files inside the löve .exe-file but that's a bit slow and clunky to do all the time.

Really, you should set up a text editor to launch it for you for convinience. It's really easy to do with Ubuntu's built in text editor but I have no idea how to do this on Windows.

Really? Actually T-Bone It's what I do when coding LOVE in OSX. It's the fastest way for me to execute it ;)

That sounds horrible. I just have a terminal open and press up followed by enter to run the last command, which in this case would be:

Code: Select all

love .

Well that's weird to me. I just edit with SciTe and press F5 everytime I want to execute it. On Windows or Linux.

People, would you kindly shut up about your favourite way to run LÖVE?

miz656, could you tell us what exactly are the steps you are undertaking that leads to the "no code to run" error. And preferably, give us a .love.
Help us help you: attach a .love.
