I can't quite tell whether Love supports sprite sheets or not. Does it? It's quite a dealbreaker for me using Love, which has been great so far otherwise.
Can anyone offer up a short demo, or a link to something helpful? I peeked through the API but couldn't find anything; but other people have mentioned doing something similar.

Yes they are supported. You can see a working demo in the Tile Tutorial that Kikito is working on here.
