Whenever I put out a game for download I'll redownload the game to test run it.
Before running the game my windows system asks if I trust the application and describes the game application as a type of "risk".
How do you make an application that's trusted for people who download and run the application? I develop games that I want to sell, so I have to ensure quality to customers.

I believe you should take this to Microsoft forums.
Re: How do you create a trusted applicaiton?
Oh, I just thought this might have something to do with building executables through love. I don't know where to start with this subject but I'll go check out Microsoft. Will this also be an issue on other platforms like apple or Linux, etc. ?

Move or Die did this, you can try emailing its creators.
Re: How do you create a trusted applicaiton?
I haven't released any commercial game (yet) but you can always contact ivan. He has released several steam games (commercial ofcourse)- so he should know about this (hopefully)
My Github- your contribution is highly appreciated
Re: How do you create a trusted applicaiton?
Thanks. If you are releasing a commercial game on Steam it usually goes through the Steam client.
It's not very common to distribute the executables yourself.
As for Windows not recognizing your application yes that is expected.
Not 100% sure, but I would think you have to certify your application with Microsoft to legitimately circumvent that warning.
Good luck!

Re: How do you create a trusted applicaiton?
Thanks for the feedback! It's true that I want to distribute the product independently.
There's a lot I want to try and learn about going into business for game development.
Guess I'll cross that "certification" bridge when I get there.
There's probably a lot of "bridges" to cross that I don't know about right now lol.
