Error with LOVE app on Android 8.0

The app was working just fine when my Note 8 earlier was running android 7.0. Today that I received the latest update for Android 8.0 whenever now I am opening the app it is only loading a white blank screen on its start up and simply closing itself automatically after few secs. How do I fix it??

does the white screen issue persist after un-reinstalling the app? Make sure to restart your device. If it persists, is there a specific love app you're attempting to run that causes the white screen? Does it do that with all .love files?

I don't have any devices running android 8 but maybe I can run it in an emulator tomorrow.

edit - looks like the emulator isn't a realistic system for testing love2d compatibility, it doesn't seem to ever work.

can any users with physical devices reproduce what garryjoshi was describing?
