Good lifebar design

Post by Gunroar:Cannon() »

Hey, aaall,

I have recently decided to limit health in my project ( from 100 to 6 ), but then I realized that I can't just have one long health bar because that's confusing, so I split it up so that the individual points can be seen.

My, question to anyone seeing this is to use their instinctive perception as a human to tell which one is best (in look) between these 3. Thanks to anyone that took out their time to reply even if they're no art guru.

1) None, better to redesign it completely ...or...

Your white outline is actually an error screen ;)

Black. You don't want to draw too much attention to it.

Hmmm, I see, thanks. Anyone else? Is the position of the life bar in bad? Or should I maybe use something like hearts? Or It's fine as a bar?

I second this. White draws attention to the border rather than what's inside it. And boxes are good - hearts would just complicate what should be a simple display IMO.
