Female members of LÖVE community?

Post by Etiene »

Hello everyone! :D I'm new here!
(sorry if this is not the right place to post this :x)

I'd like to ask where are the female members of the LÖVE community and if we can connect!
I currently develop other stuff in Lua and just started with LÖVE last week, looks awesome!

So, there's this user group I co-founded to organize meet ups and attract more women to the Lua community
http://lualadies.org/
There is also a facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lua-Ladi ... 1144952722

I'm planning to organize our first meeting in january or february and the theme will be "Let's make a game with LÖVE". (exact title yet to be decided)
The meeting organized by me will be in Brest, France, the other co-founder is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and might organize some meetings in the future as well.

We have a particular need for someone that has already some experience with LÖVE to show some guidance to newcomers. I'll give preference to women, although I accept mentors of both genders. So, if you are near me and you would like to help, please contact me!

Pleasure meeting you all! :awesome:

You're doing awesome work! I'm neither a woman nor close to either location, but if Lua Ladies ever organises something in the Netherlands, I'd love to help out in whatever way I can.
Help us help you: attach a .love.

You don't really follow what's going on in the world are you?

@Etiene
Great project, I wish you best of luck!
I'll tweet your website as well, maybe that way you can reach more people.

I think he meant sex as in genre, male or female.
And I would usually ask the same question, but this subject tends to always end in an absolute shitstorm and this forum seems too civil and lovely for that. So I won't :)

Best of luck with your effort Etiene and welcome to the forum. My advice would be to use the search function freely, I'm new too and I have a hard time finding questions that haven't been asked yet :P

I actually never really thought about the gender of the people here. It doesn't matter who makes the code if you ask me.

But you'd need to be living under a rock right now if you're not aware of the whole gender war going on on the internet currently. It's a really dangerous rocky road to travel on if you choose to even open your mouth or choose a side. Basically what nfey said.

Either way, welcome!

Don't let fear prevent you from asking questions, otherwise that fear will soon become justified.
