Tactical Bullet Hell RPG - Fight Demons in NYC

Post by SamR71 »

Hello!

I'm working on a game called What They Don't Tell You About Living In New York

It's a tactical bullet hell RPG inspired by American Football. It's built 100% in Love2d.

If interested, check it out here: https://srackey.itch.io/wtdtyaliny

1) Selecting psy-weapon via the shift-menu felt cumbersome.
Why not just press keys 1&2 on keyboard? Or left / right mouse button to shot weapon 1 / 2.

2) At first the gameplay did not feel good but I was not in the mood for dodging too much.
Is there no way to refresh mana? Do I just have to let myself get killed if I run out?
There might actually be more depth than I initially thought but for now I just fumbled around randomly.
I never used the slow-motion because I felt mana was already so limited. At one point I thought the game was bugged because rightclicking was using mana but nothing happend. Maybe have some graphical effect when slow-motion is active.

3) With the graphics it is a bit unclear how big the hitboxes are.
The programmers art might be good enough if you add some effects like particles, hit animations etc. so that it will look more alive and juicy.

3) When I entered the level-1 house for the second time, there was no more sound.

4) It is nice that progress is saved, I might try again later.
