Could you edit the OP to explain the game? What does it do? Is it an action shooter etc?

Totally revamped the OP (Just realized as I typed that now..only now..that that probably stands for origional post  ). Updated the game to fix some bugs. Want to add more stuff but got this out here for some feedback.

Cool intro. :)

Good bits - intro. Style. Polish. Images. Animations. Sounds. Music. It really looks like a game that has a lot of love invested in it. :) This is not a hack. Well done. :)

Now for the feedback.

The controls bit flashed and went too fast.
"Controls" is really "map keys" or "configure controls"
When configuring controls, I'm waiting for the text to say something but it doesn't - or I need to press a key or something? It seems to be keypress driven but that's not obvious.
The fog of war thing is a bit distracting. Lots of flashing - but that's just me.
Does the jump button also shoot? Maybe I mapped that wrong.

I'm now stuck and don't know what to do. :( I'm at the bottom of a hole and have no idea how to get up. I somehow built a block but only one. Don't know how to make more.

I enjoyed this so I'm happy to try again with more information. :)

Okay, thnx for the feedback! :awesome:
Now ...

What do you mean by the controls bit flashed and went to fast?(maybe this is a bug that doesn't happen to me, I can't test the controls aspect here to well  ...or something else? )

-Yep, will change the name from controls to map keys with next update, got that.

-Would saying press a key to <Action> (e.g press a key to jump) fix the configure controls text?

-Yeah, fog of war can be turned off :ultrahappy:

-You might have mapped it incorrectly (I hope), making both shoot and jump the same key(unless you did this before ever configuring keys? Did you? Then the problem may be from me ...) It prints out which key is which on the control configuration screen (by the left). I made it possible to assign the same keys incase someone wanted to shoot while they moved :P

-The Controls (map keys) is kind of like a tutorial. To build you have to collect the blocks you shoot if you run out of blocks (shown at top right). To do the actual building make sure you have enough blocks then hold the "Build" key while "shooting" in the direction you want to build. It will place a block there instead of shoot. To go up you could jump then immediately place a block under you (Maybe I'll add q toggle option so you won't always have to hold build key).

You can also climb if you go "up" against a wall. You can shoot while going up(can you? With the keys?) in a wall to keep digging up...like bots sometimes do :3

I hope the jumping is smooth or does it seem strange (too high, too slow, too fast)?

Very nice gameplay.
But srsly, the control mapping needs a _normal_ menu and not some hard to follow tutorial text that i failed to get correct 3 times now.
Also having a button for shooting eg "bottom left" is not intuitive, i was expecting that is what you automatically shoot to
if you aim down and left at the same time.

How would this normal menu be? Like "press up","press down"? Or set the keys? I'm not too knowledgeable on control schemes.

Oh, yes :ultrashocked: . Of course. That's very smart. Thnx!

Yea, really.
This _action worms_ genre has quite a few entries and yours is in comparison pretty neat.
Just dont fall into the trap that the other suffer from: Too much buttons and too much features so that no one knows how to play in the end. eg hedgewars has a grappling hook to swing around while shooting and this was just sensory overload when i tried it, like you need 3 hands to play it.

Just a table as commonly used by any program for keybindings
jump | space
shoot | ctrl
etc
Click on an entry, be able to change said entry.
An automated setup like you do only makes sense for a few buttons, like for a nes gamepad but not for a keyboard.

Okey tried a few more times: Sometimes the bot cornered and killed me other times it was plain dumb and stood around while i shot it.
I like the concept of building turrents, gives a nice tactical element and makes the game playable for people who cant aim.
What you absolutely must do: Adding the sound distance model so you dont have to endure hearing the ki firing around at the other end of the map.

Also the settings did not stick.
