Re: SpinPong

I like the idea of playing a game but losing the ball and still winning, cause I have more "style" than my opponent (even if I lose half my style points for losing the ball). Fun game!

Re: Underlife (WIP)

After some more thought, i don't think it would work out anyway. But here is an example, if you take a cylinder and parametrize it you basically "unroll" it into a rectangle, so any given point on the surface of the cylinder can be found on that parametrized rectangle. Same thing is true w...

Re: How to communicate technical concepts to players?

the more i learn about you game the more it fascinates me. You could explain it as living road map of sorts that only has a small part filled out, and once you leave that area of that map it tries to fill in the new space with areas you've already been to. So, you can find your location on the map b...

Re: Underlife (WIP)

When you parametrize a 3D surface (an surface of any 3D function) you can take that surface and flatten it out into a rectangular 2D surface (technically a plane) with in a giving domain. I wish i could draw a picture! Oh, took me a bit, but google produced a result. Its not the best, but its a star...

Re: Underlife (WIP)

I've been thinking about this some. You could create a map that was the surface of a sphere and have it loop back on its self fairly easily. If you made a terrain generator (noise maybe?) to populate the surface of a sphere and store those values in spherical coordinates (where your radius will be a...

Re: Game Idea

It didn't work for me and my computer doesn't like frame buffers. But that wasn't the issue, it seemed more like it was stuck in a loop or something. It never even crashed, just locked up. I didn't take time to look at the code, so no real help.
