Re: Unnecessary use of the umlaut
*** WARNING *** ***EVIL PHONETICS AHEAD*** Actually, ö/ø can be either short or long, and in the International Phonetic Alphabet it is written ø. It can be similar to the British English vowel in "bird" or a short version of the same vowel (note that the American English vowel in bird is a...

Re: Endless LÖVE puns
Actually, I have software that should be able to handle PSDs, and I don't mean GIMP.
I could move over to my gf's computer even and fire up Phosphorshop, but I should be able to handle it without doing that.

Re: Hate: In love with C
Focus on LÖVE, not HATE. Heck, it doesn't even have the umlaut seal of quality.
And remember that not all C programmers are 50+ years old.

Re: LÖVE Merchandise!
Spreadshirt also has good stores, especially if you submit EPS files, but I think the mouse pads cost more than $3. Spreadshirt is a bit weird though, you can open Europe-only stores (spreadshirt.net, which for unknown reasons shows up in German, although Norwegian is available) or US & Canada w...

Re: Is LOVE being able to use only 1byte font?
That would be "ohayou gozaimasu", but it would be simple enough to just use an int as an index for a bitmap font. Although if Löve only takes bytes you'd probably use the range from 128-255 for the kana. Problem is if you don't do combining diacritics, you end up with too many characters i...

Re: Mirroring Image
There's of course always the simple solution of making flipped graphics in the actual image files.
Not a good solution, but it gets the job done.

Re: Idea - Distorting Sprites
I don't see why "sprite distortion" should not be implemented. If someone decides to use it for 3d, then that's their problem. Distorting sprites like this only requires that you can move individual vertices of a quad around freely. It could be used for special effects. It could be used to...

Bernard, don't feel insulted. I've just been playing DotT on my Wii lately, and I love that game, especially the graphics (although aged). So when I saw the name, I instantly thought of Bernard.

Re: Is LOVE being able to use only 1byte font?
It's not like I pay attention to what libraries you use, and which you don't. If you render glyphs to some texture in memory, you could just use a simple discard system when a the number of glyphs gets too big and overwrite the old glyph. It would require that you set up some kind of collection to k...

Re: New here and a few non-technical questions
It's similar to patent registration, except you register a trademark. Not sure which countries have trademark registration, but I know at least there's a central office of trademark registration in the US. The reason to register a trademark is basically to date it to make sure that no one can claim ...
