Re: SQLITE3

LÖVE writes to %appdata%, but any external libraries might do just about anything - SQLite3 does not depend on LÖVE's filesystem functions. In this case, it probably grabs the current folder (as in, where the application is executed), which turns out to be your Notepad++ installation folder due to h...

Re: Server move incoming, expect a little bit of downtime

Maybe as a little heads up, seems like the navigation bar at the top seems to be missing the subforum(s) you are currently navigating under (the text missing on the right side of "<"). Perhaps related to the server move?

Re: Avoiding moving objects going into walls in bump.lua

The "slide" method does not apply any sort of push to objects. Instead, it will simply make an object glide along the given surface, by not permitting the object to move further on the X or Y axis once the collision is detected. In the case of an object hitting a corner, it'll stop it from...

Re: Avoiding moving objects going into walls in bump.lua

You haven't provided what filter(s) you are using (the function self.checkCollision points to), but as far as I can tell what your code is basically saying is that if there are two objects colliding, the one with higher velocity will push the other, by applying its velocity (or impulse) to it. I see...

Re: Avoiding moving objects going into walls in bump.lua

This sounds like a code issue more than an issue with the library. You'll have to share your code, because I could see several cases where what you could describe happens, and it all boils down to how you're handling the collision responses, and what kind of filters you're using. Also, whenever I us...

Re: graphics tablet

It's an alternative for mouse input, yes, like all other graphics tablets. So while you can track them with love.mouse functions, I don't think there's any functionality in löve to detect pressure of the pen touches if love.touch.getPressure doesn't work. Not sure how you would go about it with Huio...

Re: Apps for Animation?

I use graphicsgale myself as well, and I've dabbled with dotpict on android. I am not aware of any good choices for Android-based pixel art animation workflow, or previewing animations like you describe, so I think the best approach may be trying to run Wine on Android . If you can get it to run com...

Re: Collision just doesn't work.

I think the forums don't let new users to attach files to posts right away, so you'll have to make a few more posts first, or link to some filehosting site. Maybe even copy-pasting your code to pastebin, and linking that here. In the mean time, you could also share your code in your forum posts (rem...

Re: Why not update LOVE?

Generally in software development, developers might version lock themselves into specific versions or releases of their engine or choice, or the libraries they are using. This is so to guarantee that the code will build and run correctly, because any changes in those engines or libraries could break...

Re: That facepalm moment when ...

hey, why is it printing 1 1? Tables are passed by reference in lua. As such, if you pass in a table and do some modifications on it, then those changes will persist even after the function finishes. However, in the posted code, when the reset_vector is any non-falsey value, the table the variable &...
