You could lay out a grid of nodes and when the sprite moves to the node that contains the pixel in question it moves from the center of the node to the pixel. Or some such thing.

Since you are hard-coding " the nodes to be "tiles in a grid" and the neighbors to be "either the 4 or 8 tiles touching a given one, you are making the algorithm less usable. I wouldn't call it less usable. He did preface it as "a simple A*..", I would say his take on ...

Not sure if this has been mentioned (lots of posts in here), but your framebuffers are not Po2. Well, at least one of them, won't run on most older hardware.

I only die over and over and over again, not sure what the object is. Also, i have to reset fairly often as the game no longer responds to my mouse. Luckily I found the "r" key for that. But, it seems to be running smooth, I suppose.

It liked it, took me a bit to realize there was more space than just on the screen. The AI seemed a little dumb, I pretty much rolled over everything pretty quickly. But, I understand that AI isn't the easiest thing to write. It was fun, and the music seemed like a really good fit.

So i spent some time playing frustrating mode today, about 46 seconds worth, and came to one conclusion: Worst idea for a game that I've ever had! Lucky for me my cheat got accidentally pushed into the latest release....
