Re: Enforce just one instance?

A simple way would be to have your project create a file when opened, and delete it before it quits (there's a callback for the latter) Yes, I use this method too, although you have to check if that file is locked or not. If the file is there but it's not locked then the previous instance has eithe...

Re: Enforce just one instance?

A simple way would be to have your project create a file when opened, and delete it before it quits (there's a callback for the latter) The project should check before creating the file if it exists already or not, if it does, it's already running, and it could just shut itself down. Switching in th...

Re: Midi format music distortion

One could also reuse instruments by putting several songs within the same module, but Love can't be easily made to play just certain patterns from a module and stop. This is correct, unfortunately; the only solution would be a library that implements parsing modules and all the "advanced"...

Re: How does Love load files in “fused” mode?

Hi and welcome to the forums! The same way it can read .love files that aren't fused; they are zip archives; fused executables are just the love executable and the project zip tacked onto the end; zips use footers, and the filesystem library löve uses (PHYSFS) mounts the fused exe (since it's just l...

Re: When are we going to see 0.12.0?

There's also solutions to GUIs as well, but given how most of those libraries are incomplete (works in progress or or abandoned), it should say something about - how hard it is to make a -good- GUI library, and - why löve won't have one inbuilt; can't cater to everyone's tastes with it, so recommend...

Re: Download files straight from the game/program?

Hi! I wanted some more help regarding this topic! What if I want to save a zip, then unmount it? Thanks, If the premise was that you just downloaded a zip, then you don't need to unmount it since you never mounted it in the first place. If it was instead about mounting a zip, saving something into ...

Re: Assign a 'require' to an index arbitrarily?

Nothing simpler to solve, just put a return block_normal at the very end of your block_normal.lua file, that will return the table itself through require, not just whether the file was successfully required in or not. (filename and table name doesn't need to correlate necessarily, but here, it does)...

Re: Midi format music distortion

I guess the real question is, is there a real use case for MIDI in videogames these days? Who knows, if someone doesn't want to bother with middleware like... what was it called, fmod? It might be useful; can still be used to control, time, crossfade, whatever- high quality sound bites for a dynami...

Re: Midi format music distortion

Is there a real use case for MIDI these days? Why not use mp3 or ogg etc? (I promise I'm not trying to be a jerk - I just am surprised to see this question in 2021.) Despite what you might equate to "MIDI", like those old html1 sites with background music being played back with shit micro...

Re: HUMP camera zoom smoothing?

I need to play with it more to understand where the score needs to be drawn each time the camera moves because currently it scrolls off-screen when the camera moves. It needs to be drawn after you draw everything related to the world and you stop using hump.camera's transformation stack ; its posit...
