Re: Example code of Platformer AI

Maybe it's better to think in terms of cached landing points . Then it doesn't matter if your enemies jump the same height/distance or not. Note that your procedural generator needs to be aware of the enemy's jumping capabilities to create navigable maps, unless you want them getting stuck or diving...

Re: WordPlay: An educational game for under 6s

I agree - it's a really nice font. I haven't looked into the code, but maybe you can edit the font a bit if you really want to keep it?

And again, this is a great game. Thanks for posting it!

Re: If statement and Goto

How much have you read on software programming patterns? Specifically the state pattern, it's very cool: https://gameprogrammingpatterns.com/state.html ... Ooh, another big thanks for this! I've also been trying to wrap my head around states. Much appreciated!! EDIT: Now that I've read up more on s...

Re: WordPlay: An educational game for under 6s

Two more quick things: 1. I tried it on Android via the Play Store love app, and it works great! Thanks! 2. Consider modifying or changing the included font. The letter 'j' looks like 'i'. Not a big deal for most adults, but for young kids this is a potential difficulty. See screenshot. In case it's...

Re: WordPlay: An educational game for under 6s

I happen to have two kids: 2.5 years and 8 months. This looks like something that could be relevant for the older one, and the younger one in the near future. I've been trying to figure out how to begin teaching phonemes to the older one, and this could be a great intro. Thanks! Here's some feedback...

Re: Pixi - Evolution Simulator [WIP]

Here's another suggestion: Different game modes. The current one is sort of a petri dish, where pixies are evolved & grown. Keep that! But add a second game mode where you take a collection of (saved?) pixies and drop them into a more dynamic "world". Up to you how to implement that an...

Re: Help with inventory

JME, it's not possible to (accurately) run your code - it relies on images that you haven't included. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be seeing or how it's supposed to react. Can you upload a .love, or create a code sample that doesn't require external images?

Agreed, that could be made clearer. I think when one spins like mad is when it's reproducing? But I'm not sure.

Re: Pixi Dish [WIP]

This is really cool! I've only been running it for a few minutes, but I've got a pixi I'd like to share. I saved to to a slot in-app. How/where do I find its data to upload? (EDIT: https://love2d.org/wiki/love.filesystem ) EDIT: As for how to gamify this, it would involve setting up a server, but yo...

Re: I can't create a text box

When you say textbox, do you mean the text you print onscreen for the player? Or are you talking about collecting text from the player?
