May i also suggest on the forum rules that "any file you upload is released under xxxx license unless explicitly stated otherwise in the file or accompanying post." Kind of like forcing those aware of the matter to state a license, while those that just upload surely don't want to lock their game do...

mike, i think i didn't understand you at first. Does Vimeo have better quality? (note to everyone, i have never used neither vimeo nor youtube :) so i know nothing about their abilities/inabilities )

Being torn between both sides (simplicity for the user vs. optimized code) I figured i will share my thoughts on this. At first, i thought "of course there should be a default font loaded," but as rude pointed out, this is an unnecessary font load which is wasteful for every application except tutor...

There is some kind of localization support in the game TurboSliders, which also uses SDL. But I honestly don't know if the author coded several keyboard layouts manually and just automatically figured out what to use, or if he was able to get it from SDL. I will try and find out. Yes, it would be nice if it were possible to get the character the operating system actually returned whenever you pressed a key.

(i have tried this myself using sdl and failed, so good luck :) )

I must say i find the load() function name a little not-fitting. I would suggest renaming it to initialize(), which i think fits better. I believe any kind of initialization goes on in that function, not just loading :) Which brings me to another thought. Is the function even necessary? Is it called...

I just get a black screen with "quit" in the upper right corner, when i start the first level. Am i doing something wrong? :? My machine: Intel Core2 Quad 2gb, nvidia 8600gts graphics card. Edit: Btw, why is the engine not for linux also, it seems like there is no real reason not to have it for all ...
