Re: Game distribution question

For me the key is performance. Is there some notable differences? You mean between a .love and a combined .exe? Not really; the latter just has the executable mounts itself (its tail, actually, where the zip footer is, at the very end) to the virtual filesystem and then runs like that. And I'm not ...

Re: How to make bitser more robust

While it is true that you can no longer create a new ImageData from an Image, you can still do it through Canvases in 11.x with Canvas:newImageData... and hopefully, if 12.0 will merge Image and Canvas together into Texture, it'll have a similar function as well, since not all options are covered wi...

Re: Having issues fading things out gradually

An implementation to the "darken only some pixels every frame" by pgimeno would be to have a screen-sized image where N% of pixels are transparent, and (1-N)% of them are not (color up to your choice, probably black) - this won't work if you want to support multiple resolutions though (or ...

Re: Having issues fading things out gradually

if your canvas is 8bit rgba (which is the default), regardless of what number you set with setColor, it can only go in increments of 1/256, or 0.0039, so what you're seeing is the result of that quantization. I can think of two ways to get around this; either use a canvas that has more bits per colo...

Re: What's best to keep a value for only 1 frame?

KEY = nil is fine, nothing bad happens if you nil something that was nil already.

That said, with this method, you can only store one specific key; if you'd press multiple during one frame, only one of them would be saved.

You should be able to edit your first post with the pencil icon on the top-left near your name, and put [SOLVED] in front of the subject in the subject field ("Problem with the .exe created for my game")

Re: Problem with the .exe created for my game

Two things to note and try: 1. the require function works with module paths, not file paths; you using `/` might or might not work, since you should use dots as separators, so: require 'luas.extendedLoader' 2. windows (the NTFS filesystem actually) might not care about file casing, but any other OS ...

Win7; Mine's mostly on-time for each timer, if it isn't, it's less by .1 rather than more.
