Re: [Sample] Hexmap

Hexagonal tiles are used in a lot of strategy games, because the distance from on tile to the next is always the same. For squares diagonal moves are either illegal or legal. If they are illegal, it takes two moves to move to a square that is diagonal to the current square. If it is legal, you can s...

Re: The love can't run on when fold name has UNICODE words

I tried installing that build to a directory named 愛, and Mr. Epic Name's Jackin a Box ran fine from that dir. I also tried unzipping it to a subdir called ボクスにジャック (literally Jack in a box, not the toy jack-in-a-box, ビックリ箱), and it ran perfectly fine from there too. Any other tests you need for thi...

Re: LuaJIT 2.0

Anyway, what's Love needs more than speed improvement right now, IMHO, is utf8 support. Do you mean supporting real-time rendering of any unicode glyph? Cause that's been discussed before, and it's not going to happen (at least not any time soon). If you just need certain glyphs, you could use a bi...

Re: love.cloud

Not really, the concept of cloud computing essentially refers to peer-to-peer (or highly aggregated) non-centralized processing and storage. Not necessarily peer-to-peer, but peer-to-peer is one of the many cloud computing models out there. I wouldn't say that Facebook, Google Apps, Amazon S3 or Go...

Re: love.cloud

Just remember, relying on a single server would kind of be against the idea of a cloud. o/ There's nothing wrong about running a single server in a cloud system as long as that server can handle the load. That's the whole point of load balancing, boot more servers as needed and connect them to the ...

Re: My Zelda style adventure engine (DEMO NOW AVAILABLE)

You don't have to hold down the button. Weird, I could swear it wouldn't move unless I held it, must have been collisions that were hard to spot. Anyway, if you walk diagonally against a wall, the character animation isn't updated properly (it gets reset or something). Also, there was an octorok of...

Re: My Zelda style adventure engine (DEMO NOW AVAILABLE)

One thing I don't quite like is having to hold down the boomerang button. I find it to be quite unnatural that I can control the power of the throw long after I've thrown the boomerang. I prefer how Zelda handled the boomerang. Other than that the engine looks great. Not all conversion specifiers ma...

Re: Avalon.

I would usually count down a timer and check for if it reaches 0 (timeleft <= 0), but that's just a question of semantics.
