Re: Does table.remove remove the item from memory?

See https://www.lua.org/pil/19.2.html for details on table.remove - it's a Lua function, not Love specific. If i is a basic string/number (unlikely in this case), then its data is lost immediately. If i is a table or other object, the reference is removed from the enemies table. If you have another ...

Re: When using love.math.noise, either the program stops responding or I get some kind of expected results

... One thing I experienced is that canvases didn't work well, and I'm not sure why that was, but imageData works really well. Canvases are still gpu-side; ImageData isn't. ... I know this is kind of off-topic now, sorry about that. But it seems really strange that ImageData (CPU-side) would perfor...

Please try to refrain from non-contributory necro posts.

Also, it may be worth noting that there's an updated love.js setup maintained by Davidobot at https://github.com/Davidobot/love.js
I believe it doesn't use Docker, if that matters to you.

Re: When using love.math.noise, either the program stops responding or I get some kind of expected results

What grump said, but besides, if you place the point in the middle between two pixels, your GL driver is free to pick either side, and it decides that it's fun to pick sometimes the left pixel, sometimes the right pixel. You need to add 0.5 to the pixel coordinates so that they fall in the centre o...

Re: How to do cleaner fog of war

...Does it work with...like...alot of "polygons"(tiles). Which are alot on my screen. Polygons are actual polygons, drawn with love.graphics.polygon() and "tiles" are usually defined as graphics (or quads of graphics) drawn with love.graphics.draw(). Polygons are generally slow ...

Re: Favourite inspiring/unique games

I just found out that Outcast is currently FREE on GOG! https://www.gog.com/game/outcast It's a FPS with a non-linear storyline, and I absolutely LOVED it back in its heyday! Check it out!! https://images.gog-statics.com/ebdf9cd97a4d654219db0cc9619c78dcce4cd817951449a29457314c710a06aa_bg_crop_1366x6...

Re: Mars Lander. Any collaborators? Noobs welcome.

Also, it's been pushing into areas I'm less familiar with, so there's been less accessible to me. Would you mind sharing what areas you mean by that? I feel like I'm a big reason for pushing many recent structural changes in the code since I joined and if any of this is holding you back I'd like to...

Re: Mars Lander. Any collaborators? Noobs welcome.

milon has dropped off but he might return. Maybe, we'll see. ;) My only dev time is during my downtime at work, hehe. That means no evening/weekend contributions. Once Mars Lander started gaining more interest, it began moving faster than I could keep up with. Also, it's been pushing into areas I'm...

Re: Change screen size

My understanding is that you can't change the resolution on Android - only the orientation. Setting resolution on Android just determines if you're playing in portrait or landscape mode. I've not played around with DPI on Android myself.
