Publishing on Steam?
Hey again. So, my boss asked me to make a post here in regards to publishing a Löve game on Steam. We have the game ready and we'd like to know what it takes to publish a Löve game on Steam. Thanks
Re: Publishing on Steam?
As far as I understand it, you can upload your game here:
https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/bro ... er=pending
If it is well received, it will get on steam.
I believe there is also a Love2d build floating somewhere around with Steamworks integrated.
This might be a good read too:

List of LÖVE games currently on Steam (that I know of):
I know at least of 1 more game, but I forgot its name.
Anyway, you could try contacting the developer of these.

And Wanderer will probably be as well... iirc they still use Löve and hadn't switched.
Me and my stuff True Neutral Aspirant. Why, yes, i do indeed enjoy sarcastically correcting others when they make the most blatant of spelling mistakes. No bullying or trolling the innocent tho.

Yep still using LOVE and definitely won't switch!zorg wrote:And Wanderer will probably be as well... iirc they still use Löve and hadn't switched.
So to get on Steam, you need to pass through Greenligth or get a publisher, and then you'll need to integrate Steamworks to take adavantage of the achievements or cards system. And you can do this integration through luajit FFI or by modifying LOVE sources to add a specific module for it, but FFI is probably the best route for it.

I'm not sure if there is a maintained list anywhere but there are a couple more games that have been greenlit. If I had to guess there is at least 10 greenlit love games.Sheepolution wrote:List of LÖVE games currently on Steam (that I know of): I know at least of 1 more game, but I forgot its name.

Re: Publishing on Steam?
Any tutorials on how to get your game on steam?
Re: Publishing on Steam?
There are extensive tutorials on the Steam portal, available once you become a Steamworks partner (it costs $100 for your first app)
There is also my Sworks-FFI library: https://love2d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=87917
