Same computer? That makes no sense. Networking doesn't acually "network" when it's on the same computer. It's not a network if it's one machine.

When you get it working on two separate computers, like it's supposed to, tell me.

And yet, it uses exactly the same mechanisms.

That wasn't the problem here, was it? They got it working on two separate computers (there are even some YouTube movies of the Volleyball game, played by two players in different countries). The problem is that you can't get it to work, which is a different problem entirely.

Now, I'd like to help you troubleshoot this thing, but I don't know enough about this shit.

It is almost the same thing, it just traverses a tiny network.
But I loaded it up on two computers this time. I just hit refresh and it showed up in the server list.

See, I can't figure out why it doesn't work for me. Is your network wired or wireless? Mine is two MacBook's via a G router. I even turned the firewall off on the router to try it out.

Mine was half wireless half wired, but that shouldn't play a big role. I have a router with Tomato running.

Mine has regular old Onion... er whatever the Linksys has. I don't dare upgrade it myself for fear of screwing things up. But I don't think the lack of Tomatoes and Lettuce should hinder the ability to network a simple game. There must be something else in the way. Can someone show me a video or screenshots of what the two games should look like when connecting properly? Not the game itself, but the screen with say the settings all set up and ready to play.

What settings?
Multiplayer -> LAN -> Host -> Play.
and then
Multiplayer -> LAN -> Refresh -> Connect.

When I press Host, it doesn't give a Play button. It sits at the "Looking for slimes" screen.
