Re: Love threads?

So what? Is this a question? Statement? Complain? Feature request? Even spamming bots add some more context from time to time - give others a chance, and spell what's on your mind. Anyway, let's assume it was a question, someone else might be interested in answer. Yes, as documentation says - only F...

Re: Detecting if cursor is outside the window

SDL 1.2 already supported changing the system cursor, but it only supports black & white cursors because that's a limit of many OSes and SDL has to respect the lowest common denominator. my mistake, never needed it and that's the reason I wasn't aware of it being here already. Anyway, in 1.3 wh...

Re: Detecting if cursor is outside the window

There should really be an actual way to change the cursor. sdl 1.3 probably supports changing system cursor, but it's only b&w and still , animated and colour cursors are on wishlist, and not on required features for 1.3/2.0 . So I doubt there will be any cross-platform way to change cursor any...

Re: math.floor()

If you had any idea how base 2 is stored in the memory, you'd know why that happens. :P it's just how floor and ceil are defined mathematically and not related to how it is stored - it's like saying that sky is blue because of rgb representation in computer, really. Just stick to definition from an...

Re: "A Whiff of Steam" story contest

Great, we have 3 proposals now, so second condition is already met :D It means, that final deadline for contest is 1st November - month after original deadline, that was extended because of small number of proposals.

Re: "A Whiff of Steam" story contest

But is it OK to put non-story elements into footnotes? Because there are a lot of assumptions that are implicit and I think are obvious, but not everyone might agree, and some game play elements that are closely connected to, but not critical for the plot. If you want, it wasn't prohibited in rules...

Re: "A Whiff of Steam" story contest

My entry contains a lot of footnotes not directly part of the story, but pertaining to it. The footnotes sometimes suggest gameplay features as well. Is that OK? you can add those as separate document or ticket (I think we have idea bucket, it fits there perfectly - of course it's good to have thos...

Re: "A Whiff of Steam" story contest

I might just put more emphasis on different things. Some characters might be obese, have no legs or simply be dead, and only appear on flashbacks or something. Would that be allright? or has it been already decided how characters must look like? (I didn't see that on the PDF) Only focus is set in s...

Re: "A Whiff of Steam" story contest

Good idea. If I can set my mind to it, I'd like to write something as well. Thirty days, looks good. I've been ignoring this post because I went on holidays and when I came back I just didn't have time to write anything. If there are 30 more days, I might be able to do something. great news, the mo...
