It seems LuaJIT and LÖVE are a match made in heaven. The (massive) speed boost provided by LuaJIT would allow making much more demanding games in LÖVE. I am not sure doing your own (software) scaling is necessarily the best thing in this day and age. I certainly won't do it. If you have a decent graphic card (e.g. anything half-way modern by Nvidia) the GPU itself can scale the output using the desired method. This is fast and looks great in my exp...

My suggestion - instead of one big RL project, how about one big RL library to make creating one much easier. Good idea. LÖVE primarily attracts hobby coders (like me) I guess and roguelikes are a popular genre for that crowd because you don't necessarily need a graphic artist. (ie. shadowcasting, ...

I think LÖVE should tell the user to drag and drop a game folder/.love file on the LOVE icon instead of showing that pig. I had to go to the wiki to figure out how to actually run something.
